La Rosière 1850: the best kept secret in the Alps!

La Rosière is a charming ski resort tucked up high in the French Alps. The village sits at an altitude of 1850m and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and Mont Blanc.

It’s a real hidden jewel as the resort remains relatively unknown (…all the more reason to come and discover!) despite its favourable micro climate that sees La Rosière 1850 regularly ranked as one of the resorts with the highest snowfall in France! This enviable claim is notably due to its proximity to the Mont Blanc and Italy. Ironically, it is this south-facing location that lets Chalet Lyskamm enjoy glorious sunshine all day long.

La Rosière 1850 is located on the way to the Col du Petit St Bernard. This makes Val d’Isère, Tignes, Sainte Foy and Les Arcs, some of the Alps’ most highly sought-after ski resorts, easily accessible by car and in less no less than 35 minutes. So, for the hungry skiers who seek to venture further afield, there is plenty to keep you busy…

The Espace San Bernado is vast and offers 160km of international ski runs, including the famous “Franco Bertho” which hosted the World Cup Downhill in 2016. Adventurous skiers chasing an off piste and Héli-ski adrenalin rush will enjoy the far-reaching and challenging domain, whilst children and beginnings will find everything they need at the resort’s 3 ski schools, of which 2 are affiliated ESF.

The whole area looks out onto the magnificent Massif de la Vanoise, ensuring spectacular views and a true feeling of being in the « real mountains ». With 37 chairlifts and a network of easy liaisons, you can enjoy the best of the French and Italian cultures within the same day, before returning home to the chalet and its cosy comforts.

A wide range of activities are available, both in the winter and summer. Winter sports include skiing, Héli-skiing, ski touring, ski kite surfing, speed-riding, ice skating, snow-shoeing…or some well-deserved afternoon of pampering in the spa.

In the summer, there is paragliding, hiking, tennis and a 9-hole mountain golf course.
